Ideal Quarry, located in the beautiful Shasta Valley of northern California is a unique rhyolite deposit found only at the Big Springs location. The rhyolitic stone from the main deposit that has been quarried for over 100 years, is tan with swirls of brown and red. This beautiful stone, which has a long history of use as a building stone, is currently also being used to fabricate many products such as custom stone benches, tables, carved water features, carved bird baths and other unique uses. One customer recently had us cut coping tiles from this stone for installation around their swimming pool!
There are also deposits of a dark grey and red rhyolite stone that we are pallatizing and selling primarily as a building stone. We also have available lichen-covered rubble and boulders for your landscaping projects.
